HeroQuest: The Frozen Horror

When you get right down to it, dungeon crawling—when you’re doing it for real—is an all-around unpleasant activity. Scraping around in the dark in the catacombs under the city, trying to find mythical treasure while fighting off monsters that are (of course) absolutely real. And you go down there with torches. So, if things like leprosy and bubonic plague don’t get you, you’re almost certainly going to asphyxiate yourself and your entire party. Dungeon crawling adventures are a bit silly. Thankfully, we don’t do it for real. Not since the 1980s, anyway.

But if you’re going to dungeon crawl on the tabletop, it’s time to up your game. Make it cold. Make it very, very cold. Ice monster cold.
