Game Jargon Definition: “Character Sheet”

Character Sheet (noun) – char·ac·ter sheet /ˈkerəktər SHēt/

A character sheet is a tool to record a player’s character in a role-playing game. This can include an array of game statistics, background information, notes, and other details a player may need readily accessible during a play session. Almost all role-playing games use character sheets in one way or another. Typically, players are responsible for tracking and maintaining their character sheets with their characters’ statistics and other relevant information. Traditionally, character sheets are printed on physical paper and written on by hand. However, some gamers and gaming groups will create character sheets on their computers or mobile devices, which makes updating character statistics much easier.
