Game Jargon Definition: “Dueling Game”

Dueling Game (adjective, noun)  – du·el·ing game /ˈd(y)o͞oəliNG ɡām/

A dueling game, also known as a two-player game, is a game that is played by precisely two players. Dueling games are specific in that they require game play, rules, and components to allow only two players (rather than having options for one, three, four, or more players). Examples of dueling games include: Backgammon (3000 BCE), Twilight Struggle (2005), SHōBU (2019), and Cosmic Encounter Duel (2020).

Our own Sarah and friend of Corax & Coffee, David, playing Backgammon (3000 BCE), a classic dueling game.
